7th Welsh Stroke Conference: June 2008

The 7th Welsh Stroke Conference will be held in Newport on Friday 20th June 2008 at the Riverfront Centre. Once again there is an excellent program with international speakers including Professor Werner Hacke delivering the Bhowmick Lecture on ‘New developments and future perspective of stroke treatment’. Other sessions cover acute stroke management, rehabilitation and TIA management.

Stroke services in Wales are undergoing a huge review and development over the next 2 – 3 years and this work is being supported by an expert panel of professionals – the Welsh Stroke Alliance chaired by Dr Anne Freeman.

The Welsh Stroke Conference is one of many educational events in Wales which offers excellent updates on Stroke management to a multidisciplinary audience.

Newport is now one of the main cities in Wales and there is a huge regeneration project taking place at this time including the Riverfront Centre which is the new Arts and Theatre Complex situated on the side of the River Usk – one of the few tidal rivers in UK.
