Dr. Amer Jafar, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London is talking on 7th February 2019 at 7pm about Stroke in Wales. The venue is the Post Graduate Centre in Royal Glamorgan Hospital, South Wales. He is expected to say that the Stroke Implementation Group has prioritised the development of a clear stroke research agenda in Wales. Its vision is to achieve a step-change in high-impact stroke research for the benefit of the health, well-being and prosperity of the people of Wales. However, there are still few challenges facing the stroke service like the access to thrombectomy procedures for ischaemic stroke patients in Wales and the increase in the rate of thrombolysing stroke patients within the recommended time window of 4.30 hours from the time of stroke symptoms onset.

The lecture is part of the combined medical meeting for the three Medical Societies in South East Wales.
